In their 2019 claim report, HPSO stated that failure to clearly define the identified “client” within a couple or group demonstrated an average expense of $5,440. The same report stated that failure to clarify the nature of the relationships the counselor will have with each involved person represented an average expense of $8853. This educational content, sponsored by HPSO, provides counselors with risk management practices to identify their clients.
