Learning Objectives:

• Learners will describe the prevalence and types of client-initiated workplace violence (WPV) experienced by counselors, including differences between psychological and physical forms of violence.
Learners will identify the stages of counselors’ professional development and practice settings in which client-initiated workplace violence most frequently occurs.
• Learners will analyze the professional and personal impacts of client-initiated workplace violence on counselors and evaluate recommended implications for training, supervision, and workplace policy development.
