Learning Objectives:

• Understand definitions of grief, including the DSM-5-TR’s diagnosis of Prolonged Grief Disorder, while also recognizing the ways other types of non-loss grief have commonality with the symptoms identified in Prolonged Grief Disorder.
Be equipped to use simple narrative techniques to help clients coping with grief learn to express the feelings that often are locked inside.
• Work with clients who present with grief using post-modern approaches that help them gain self-insight in the wake of whatever loss they are grieving.
