Learning Objectives:

• Learners will be able to understand what the minimum standard of care is, and how it is typically legally defined.
Learners will be able to identify three different clinical practice guidelines relevant to the counseling profession and how they guide clinical practice in working with suicidal clients.
• Learners will create a personal development plan for increasing their own competence in working with suicidal clients and in meeting the minimum standard of care with clients.
