This session discusses how AI regulation may prevent harm yet curtail advancements if taken too far. Career development is an applied area of focus for this session. AI is changing the world of work. Regulation may save jobs, but at what cost? AI regulation is at the intersection of counseling practice, advocacy and ethics.
Learning Objectives:
1.Attendees will discuss basic pros and cons of counselors endorsing regulation for AI.
2.Attendees will explain one way that current AI can be used to provide mental health support to clients.
3.Attendees will describe how counseling ethics compares and contrasts with AI use in the field.
