Description:
Trauma and social media have a pervasive presence across many cultures and societies and impact people of all ages. However, research indicates an overlap for adolescents who experience trauma who also have access to technology and social media, yet little is known regarding the healing impact social media and technology can have on survivors of trauma. This session seeks to explore how clinicians can utilize social media to invoke healing from trauma and resolve grief in clients from the millennial generation.
Learning Objectives:
1.Attendees will learn about the multiple avenues individuals can take when utilizing social media as a pathway to healing.
2.Attendees will explore ways in which social media fosters connection and resolution of trauma symptoms.
3.Attendees will discover social media tools and implementation strategies to utilize when working with adolescent and teen clients who have experienced trauma and grief.
